Billy Bauer Band To Play Penn State's THON 2010 @ Bryce Jordan Center!
Nov 18, 2009

We are excited to announce that we have been invited to play THON 2010 @ the Pennsylvania State University's Bryce Jordan Center! For those of you who are not familiar with THON, it is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world!  The Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, affectionately referred to as THON, is a yearlong effort to raise funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer.  Since 1977, it has raised more than $61 million for The Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Children's Hospital.  THON Dance Marathon runs through the weekend of February 19-21, 2010, for 46 consecutive hours and involves over 15,000 Penn State student volunteers who put on a fun time and dance for the kids.

On behalf of the entire band, and myself as a Penn State student, we are honored to donate our time and we are looking forward to playing some tunes for everyone involved!  Also, beginning in January of 2010, we ask our fans to please look for our THON FTK (for the kids) donation can which will be at every live show until we play @ Bryce Jordan Center.  We are currently scheduled to play Sunday February 21 @ 12:00am midnight for a 1 hour set.  If any of our fans would like to contribute towards the fight against childhood cancer today, please donate through THON's official donation page.

Billy Bauer Band & Erick Macek Holiday Bus Trip on 12/19/09 To New York City's Famous "The Bitter End" & An Acoustic Evening @ Philadelphia's Tin Angel
Oct 12, 2009

We are very excited to announce two incredible shows this coming winter!  On Saturday 12/19 the Billy Bauer Band will team up with Erick Macek for an awesome 12 hour long Christmas bus trip to New York City's famous  "The Bitter End."  We are also elated to announce a special Billy Bauer & Macek acoustic performance @ one of Philadelphia's most renowned acoustic venues- the Tin Angel.

We are also thrilled to team up for both shows with a local artist who now resides in Los Angeles, CA - our friend Erick Macek.  For those of you who do not know Macek's tunes, be sure to check them out because he has a fantastic sound.  A little about Macek- he was honored in 2007 with "Best Male Vocalist" at the Los Angeles Music Awards, and has recently been nominated for "Best Singer / Songwriter" at the 2009 L.A. Music Awards.  He has played some of the world's largest music festivals including Musikfest & South by Southwest Festival (one of the premier indie festival's in the world), and he has recently opened up for artists such as Jason Mraz, David Gray, and Adam Kowalczyk of the band Live.

The Bitter End NYC Bus Trip

Because of the popularity of visiting NYC before Christmas, we decided to set up a 12 hour bus trip so everyone can do their business during the day...shop, see a show, bar hop...and then meet us back @ The Bitter End for our shows @
9:00 & 10:00pm.

A little about the venue: The Bitter End is one of the most prestigious rooms in New York City.  Past performers include Bob Dylan, Dave Matthews, Gavin DeGraw, John Denver, Van Morrison, Neil Diamond (attached picture), Stevie Wonder, Hall & Oates, Norah Jones, Billy Crystal, Bob Carlin, Bill Cosby, Woody Allen, Les Paul, Patti La Belle, Blue Travelers, Tracy Chapman, and thousands more.  Needless to say it's an HONOR to be invited back to play at this venue and we WANT you there with us.

Between both of our fan bases, we expect bus tickets to be very competitive and we urge our fans not to wait to purchase tickets....especially because Macek does not play his home market too often (his last acoustic show @ Tin Angel with Adam Kowalczyk of Live sold out room capacity quickly and many of the tix sales were Macek fans).

We are planning on multiple busses.  Bus tickets will be sold exclusively on a first come first serve basis through the Billy Bauer Band online store, and bus tickets will be your best chance avoid a sell-out @ the door.  Bus tickets will be $30 + a $2.00 service / tax fee...and considering we played in NYC a few weeks back over a 3 hour span- we spent about $50 to park + gas and tolls, we think it's a great price for 12 hours...and you can sit back, relax, and not fight the holiday traffic!  Bus tickets include round-trip transportation to and from The Bitter End in New York City and also includes the $10 door cover for admittance to our show.  Busses will depart on Saturday 12/19 from the William Penn Park & Ride (where William Penn Highway meets route 33 across from the Outback Steakhouse) @ 12:00pm and return at midnight.

*Bus tickets will go on sale to both fan bases on Monday 10/12/09 @ 7:00pm through this link.

An Acoustic Evening @ Old City Philadelphia's Tin Angel With Billy Bauer & Erick Macek

We are also very excited to announce a special acoustic performance @
Philadelphia's renowned Tin Angel on Saturday January 2nd.  Recently awarded Philadelphia's Best Live Music Venue by MyFoxPhilly.com, and nestled in Old City Philadelphia near Penn's Landing, the Tin Angel is one of the most intimate, warm, & cozy  venues to see an acoustic show in the nation and is known for fantastic sound quality.  The venue is small (fits about 100 - 125 tops) and is one of the hottest spots for nationally touring musicians.

Advance tickets will be $10 and are only available for purchase through the Tin Angel.  Once available you can purchase tickets through Comcast Tix via the Tin Angel website, or by calling Tin Angel directly by phone.  Time details will be announced within the next few weeks.

Hope to see everyone @ these two awesome shows!  We are beyond excited and we hope you can join us!!!  -Cheers
