MEET THE BAND
A Bethlehem, PA based acoustic rock group, the Billy Bauer Band has played some of the most prestigious music festivals & venues in America. Their sound is craftily woven with electric violin, and folky grooves. They built their fan base the old fashioned way, through years of touring and great live performances. The band has opened for Grammy winners and top billboard artists: Young The Giant, Third Eye Blind, O.A.R. (Of A Revolution), Tim Reynolds (of Dave Matthews Band), Blues Traveler, Gin Blossoms, Pete Francis (of Dispatch), Uncle Kracker, and more.
BILLY BAUER
// guitar / vocals
The front man. A self taught singer-songwriter, he claims to have no idea what he is doing...the jury is out. A graduate of Penn State University, Billy is a father, husband, and an avid Philadelphia sports fan. He enjoys juicy steaks or delicious ham sandwhiches with a great IPA or a glass of red.
CHRIS LORENZETTI
// violin
Born with a violin in his hand, the average listener would never know he just puts a few quarters in his violin and it then plays itself. A classically trained violinist and graduate of Lehigh University, Chris is a father, and a big fan of the 80's hair bands, the Philadelphia Phillies and NY Football Giants. Major influences include Eddie Van Halen, Motzart, Boyd Tinsley, and of course, Eli Manning.
DREW SOMERS
// drums
Drew has been drumming for the better part of 20 years. A graduate of Syracuse University, Drew is a father, husband, and a maniac on the kit. Also an avid Philadelphia Sports fan, you can often find him eating before gigs (making Billy jealous), or somewhere near a board game. Influences include, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Radiohead.
STEVE ZALALAS
// bass
Born and raised in Bethlehem, PA and hailing proudly from Liberty HS, Steve has been playing bass for over 20 years. When he's not jamming with the band, he enjoys the great outdoors (sans bear or wild boar attacks), riding bikes, composing and arranging music, playing cello, studying early Christianty and wood working.
Based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, the Billy Bauer Band has built their fan base the old fashioned way, through years of touring and great live performances. With a sound reminiscent of Dave Mathews Band, Counting Crows, Death Cab for Cutie, and Jack Johnson, they have garnered acclaim throughout the Northeast as a consistently engaging act with a crisp, bright sound.
Founded by Billy Bauer (vocals, guitar) and Chris Lorenzetti (electric violin, piano) in 2006, the Billy Bauer Band began as an acoustic duo, and evolved to incorporate the solid rhythm section of Drew Somers (percussion) and Steve Zalalas (bass).
Within just a few months of their first show in 2006, the band landed a spot in one of the most prestigious independent music festivals in the world- the “CMJ Music Marathon” (New York, NY). They have gone on to play some of the largest festivals and venues in the nation, including Musikfest (Bethlehem, PA), Arts Fest (State College, PA), Coca Cola Park (Allentown, PA), Bryce Jordan Center (State College, PA), Bitter End (New York, NY), Living Room (New York, NY), Listening Room (Nashville, TN), The Rave (Milwaukee, WI), Levitt Pavilion (Bethlehem, PA) and more. As their reputation grew, they were booked as an opening act for top billboard artists: Third Eye Blind, Grammy winner: Blues Traveler, Tim Reynolds (of Dave Matthews Band), Pete Francis (of Dispatch), O.A.R (Of A Revolution), Uncle Kracker, Grammy nominee Mary Lambert, and others.
Billy Bauer Band's last 2 studio releases together have sold thousands of units. Their songs have been contracted with major media outlets such as ESPN/Disney, 19 Six Flags theme parks in North America, featured with "Rock the Cut" by Super Cuts, distributed throughout all Sam Ash music stores nation wide, and featured on Clear Channel Philadelphia Radio 104.5fm Live @ 5.
After a career threatening vocal surgery sidelined the band for all of 2015, the following year they were right back at it. 2016 was filled with new music and great shows capped with spots with Blues Traveler and Tim Reynolds (of Dave Matthews Band). 2018 is off to a great start. The band is back in recording studio tracking their highly anticipated latest single "So I Love" which will release in spring 2018.
